It started out slow with a little snow on Wednesday. Our area didn't get much of anything, but the county called it our first official snow day because there were areas that had a lot of sleet + ice. We ate cinnamon rolls, made forts and called it a good movie day - with lots of snuggling too, of course.
Friday morning was the start of the big Snowpocalypse of Nashville. There were 5-8 inches of snow just that day alone. Roads were shut down. Schools and businesses were closed due to the heavy snow. Scot's work even shut down that day (although he didn't find out until he was on his way there.) The state declared it a Level 3 snow emergency and said it's the worst snowstorm they've seen in 13 years.
Even so, it was nice to have an extra long weekend to go out + play in all this snow and snuggle in together at home. We went to a park nearby to go sledding, and the kids had plenty of playtime in the snow in our backyard.
(See Connor's shiner? Yeah, he got that when we were sledding - he dived right into a trash can at the park. Boys.)
We've had warm baths, hot cocoa, warm apple cider, homemade soup, pizza + garlic cheese bread. And plenty of forts, puzzles + games. Just a great weekend together at home. Along with another snow day on Monday. Loved all these cozy snow days, but I have to say, it's nice to be out and about again!
