First Day of School

Monday the 10th was Jacob and Brooklyn's first day of school. We had school registration on Friday, Jacob's 13th birthday party + sleepover, last-minute school shopping, some unpacking to do...and before we knew it, it was bright and early Monday morning!

Here's our new 2nd grader:

Just for mom's sake - she's a tiny thing, weighing in at 50 lbs. and only 47 inches tall. She wears size 6-8 in clothes and size 13.5/1 in shoes. But, her favorites these days are headbands, jewelry and skirts.
Love my ornery girl. :)

Check out this dude - our new 8th grader:

Can't believe this is his last year at their school before he goes to high school! He's 5'6" and wears men's medium shirts and size 30 shorts/pants - with size 12 in men's shoes. This boy's going to eat us out of house and home in no time!

This year, Jacob is involved in band, guitar, an AP Spanish class, school soccer, First Priority (Christian group), Jr. Beta Club - and he's pumped for the 8th grade trip to Washington D.C. in May! Brooklyn is taking Spanish, dance, computer, music, art, PE...you know all the normal Related Arts classes on top of the standard curriculum, but she's mostly excited about art and reading. Just like her mom. :)

But, let's get real - this is how they really felt about school starting again:

Not happy about waking up at 6am after their long summer stint of sleeping in...but, they were excited to go to school and see all their new teachers and friends again. I say it every year, but I really think it's going to be a great year!
