Want to make perfect crispy bacon without all the greasy mess? According to Culinary Arts on about.com, here's how. (It's the only way I cook bacon now!)
- 1 lb. package of bacon
- shallow baking sheet
- aluminum foil and paper towels
Line a baking sheet with foil. Arrange bacon slices on the foil and place cookie sheet on the center rack of a cold oven. (Important part: Do NOT pre-heat oven.) Close oven door. Turn oven on to 400 degrees and bake for about 15-18 minutes. As soon as the bacon is golden brown, but not excessively crisp, it's done. Remove the pan from the oven and transfer the bacon to another baking sheet or plate lined with paper towels to absorb the fat.
