Snickerdoodles // A Recipe

One of our staple Christmas cookies we make every year. So good!

- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 tsp. cinnamon

In a large bowl, mix butter, sugar and eggs thoroughly. In a medium bowl, combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Blend dry ingredients into butter mixture. Chill dough, and chill an ungreased cookie sheet for about 10 to 15 minutes in the fridge. Meanwhile, mix 3 Tbsp. of sugar and 3 tsp. of cinnamon in a small bowl. Scoop 1-inch globs of dough into the sugar/cinnamon mixture. Coat by gently rolling balls of dough in the sugar mixture. Place on chilled ungreased cookie sheet, and bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from pan immediately.

Yield: 5 dozen
