Connor, I can't believe it, but you are 18 months old! Just a few short months ago, you were a squishy little baby in my arms and now you're a full-blown toddler running around. Crazy how fast time flies!
If I remember right, you weigh about 27 pounds now. You wear size 24-month clothes and size 4 diapers - but not for long. You are growing like a weed!
You are a fantastic eater. Now that we don't have any allergies or food intolerances to worry about, you eat just about anything we put in front of you. Sometimes you get a little picky about meat or things with a different texture (like eggs), but you love just about everything. Fruit, yogurt drinks, go-go applesauce squeezes and cookies are your favorites.
You are talking and babbling up a storm these days. Your favorite words so far are daddy, ball, up, uh-oh, mama, baba (Jake or Brooklyn), gaga (cookie, cracker or Cookie Monster), mo-mo (Elmo), da (that), and nigh-nigh (night-night). You put your hands in the air when you're asking where someone or something is. You wave when we're getting ready to leave. You fold your hands to pray and sign please, eat, drink, more and all done at mealtimes. Most of the time, we know exactly what you're trying to say and we can easily communicate with you.
You give hugs and blow kisses at bedtime. You still love to snuggle in my arms with your blankie, and I just love that! You go to bed happy and wake up happy.
You are obsessed (and I mean obsessed) with Cookie Monster, Elmo and dogs - the stuffed animal kind and real ones too. You can't say dog yet, but you pant whenever you want your stuffed dogs or if you see one walking nearby.
Your favorite shows to watch are Baby Faith movies, Sesame Street, Kipper and Wibbly Pig.
You love listening to music. You stick your butt out and bob up and down to dance to the beat.
You've had two haircuts so far. And only two more molars to go.
At 18 months, you follow directions really well. You throw things away in the trash can, you throw dirty clothes in the hamper, you get remotes, you help put toys away, you pick out books to read, you get diapers and wipes for diaper changes. It's amazing how much you can do!
You are one busy little guy. From the time you wake up in the morning to the time you lay down at night, you are going, going, going all. day. long. A constant whirl of activity. You have times where you'll sit and play (or get mad) with your siblings. You have times where you'll sit and play quietly by yourself. And you have plenty of devious get-into-trouble or "messy" moments too. (Like squishing bugs, touching outlets and unplugging things, playing in the toilet, playing with your poopy diaper in bed and smearing it everywhere, getting into Vaseline, playing with the thermometer, opening the oven-twice, climbing on things, running across the couch, eating crayons, playing in sissy's bath water, destroying your brother's and sister's things.) Yep, you keep this mama busy, little one.
You can be wild and crazy or in your own little world. Smiling, laughing or sticking out your tongue. A free spirit. All boy. Filling our lives with so much laughter and joy.
Love you, buddy. Couldn't imagine our lives without you.
