The big kids have been at VBS at our old church all week. This is the first and only year that Jake and Brooklyn could go together (kindergarten and 6th grade), so they were living it up!
We invited the kids' twin cousins and picked them up every day too. Just look at this crazy crew:
(Friday was Wacky Tacky Day. They were all acting crazy that day!)
It was a lot of early mornings, but it was so, so worth it.
The kids learned all kinds of new worship songs - with dance moves and motions to go with them.
They memorized the theme Bible verse all week and studied a Bible story each day. With crafts and games and snacks.
With the offering kids brought in each day, the church raised over $6,800 in just five days. That's crazy, people. There's going to be a lot more stoves built in South Mexico, thanks to that.
(Since they raised well over their goal of $4,000, the children's directors had to dress up as sumo wrestlers on the last day. So funny!)
The best part was that Brooklyn decided she was ready to follow Jesus and asked Him to come into her heart on Wednesday night. (Wearing her princess crown, to boot!) VBS doesn't get any better than that.
It was such an inspiring, fun-filled week for our kiddos. I'll always be grateful for the numerous volunteers at the church and all the love, hard work and time those caring people give every summer. It's really an amazing experience. Our family has been so blessed.
