I don't remember where I found this recipe, but these are delicious!
- 1 (16 oz.) package Oreo chocolate sandwich cookies
- 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
- 2 (8 oz.) packages Baker's semi-sweet baking chocolate
- Sprinkles or decorations, optional
Crush Oreos in resealable plastic bag with a rolling pin or in food processor until they are fine crumbs; place in medium bowl. Add cream cheese; mix until well blended. Cover bowl and chill for at least 2 to 3 hours. Scoop out dough with a heaping teaspoon and roll into balls. Place balls on wax paper covered cookie sheet. Chill in fridge for 30 minutes. Melt chocolate in double broiler, stirring occasionally, until smooth. Dip each truffle ball in chocolate and scoop them out with a spoon onto a wax paper covered cookie sheet. Decorate the balls with sprinkles if desired. Store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to serve.
Yield: 3 dozen truffles
