Pastor Pete brought a great message to us yesterday about living life with God. His thoughts were simple.
The Goal: How many moments of my life can I fill with the conscious awareness of God's presence?
How to practice life with God:
1. Look for God even in the small moments.Listen for Him. Look for Him.
2. Step out in faith.Hebrews 11:1-3, 6 "Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. And it is impossible to please God without faith."
3. Don't mislabel your entire life as coincidence.1 Corinthians 2:9 "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him."
God reveals Himself through His Word and through so many other people and things throughout our day, it's up to us to find Him. Open our eyes and we'll see the God of this universe just wants to be with us - in the big moments and the little everyday moments too.
This next year, I'm going to open my eyes, look around and be more consciously aware of God's presence in my own life. Those little everyday moments that connect me to Him. Let me be wide awake for You, Lord.
Wide awake moment #1: Sitting in the tunnels at the mall for an hour to keep safe during a tornado warning.
How have you seen God in your life today?
