Slush Punch // A Recipe

My grandmother, Mums, made this punch all the time at parties and get-togethers when we were growing up. This is her recipe (with a few tweaks here and there) and it's always a crowd-pleaser. It's fun to change-up the colors and flavors too! Perfect for Christmas parties coming up. Enjoy!

- 2 1/2 cups white sugar
- 6 cups water
- 2 (3 oz.) packages Jell-o gelatin mix (any flavor)
- 1 (46 oz.) can unsweetened pineapple juice
- 2/3 cup lemon juice
- 1 quart orange juice
- 2 (2 liter) bottles ginger ale, chilled

In a large saucepan, combine sugar, water, and gelatin. Boil for 3 minutes. Stir in pineapple juice, lemon juice, and orange juice. Mix well; let cool. Divide mixture in half and freeze in two 1-gallon Ziploc freezer bags. Freeze for at least 5 hours or a few days or months ahead of time. Let thaw 1-2 hours before serving. When ready to serve, place the frozen contents of one container in a punch bowl and stir in one bottle of ginger ale until slushy.

Yield: 50 (4 oz.) servings
