Christmas Spirit

Last night we worked on decorating our house for Christmas. Since we don't have a lot of decorations, we like to keep it nice and simple. And meaningful more than anything.

Each year I have visions of It's a Wonderful Life whenever we decorate, but the kids are usually arguing, Jacob starts pouting, Scot and I get irritated...and this year, we had a little tree-wrecker to watch out for. (Just keeping it real, folks.)

We all pushed through it, though, and had some fun, enjoyable moments too.

Jake got to put up the angel this year.

The bottom's bare and some branches are overloaded, but we love it.

No matter what mood the kids are in, Christmas is always a magical time of year.

Our mantel is fully decorated.

With our stockings and Christmas photo banner.

Our Christmas books are all set out.

It's a little boy's paradise!

We just have to hide the pickles on the tree.

The kids and I are busy making Christmas goodies.

And we're reading and enjoying our favorite Advent Book each night before bed.

We may have had a bit of a late start, but we're in full-blown Christmas spirit now.
