Our church, Cross Point, celebrated their 10th anniversary today. They had a big celebration service at the Municipal Auditorium this morning and everyone was invited. It was the first time all the campuses came together in one place at one time. And man, it was incredible. Scot and I had tears in our eyes the whole time.
Pastor Pete shared a great message.
Sometimes you have to believe in God beyond what you can presently see.
Romans 5:7-8 "Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners."
The words "but God" form one of the most important phrases in the entire Bible.
Matthew 27:51 "At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart."
God removes the barrier between Himself and ordinary people. God is the one doing the tearing. God is reoccupying His World. God is on the loose.
Our sin separates us from a holy God.
Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere--in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
We will be His witnesses. God is now us. We are His living temple.
Genesis 50:20 "You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people."
Psalm 73:26 "My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
When God shows up, miracles happen.
Get out of the huddle and get in the game!
We may be tired. We may get down and discouraged at times. Our circumstances may seem like they're spinning out of control.
But God loves you and He is good. But God is your strength and your portion forever. But God will never, ever let you go.
