First Day of School

Y'all. This week has been crazy. Our house went on the market at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. We had our first showings at 3:30 and 5:30 and our first offer was in by 6:30 that night, just 12 hours in.

Between showings, phone calls, cleaning the house, getting haircuts and last-minute things for school (and some serious house hunting), we braved the throngs of people and got Jake registered for school.

These are the halls he'll be walking through now.

He has a half-locker to store everything in, so that locker shelf will sure come in handy this year.

And here he is this morning on his first day of school, looking all too chipper at 6:30 a.m.

My, how he's changed.

Fifth grade is a whole new ball game. Jake switches classes and has five different teachers. He walks the halls with sixth thru eighth graders. He has a locker and a zipper binder made for college students. He's wearing size 14 pants and 7.5 men's shoes.

This kid's growing up way too fast these days. But, I know he's excited and there's no other place he'd rather be today than at school.

  1. Chauncey! That is great news about your house. Here is hoping it sells soon.

Love the pictures of Jake throughout his first days of school.
