What were your brother and sister up to at this age?
At 5 months, Jacob was just starting solid foods. And loved it.
And Brooklyn got the stomach flu for the first time at 5 months. She vomited all over me more times than I could count and had lots of baths for a couple days.
You make the best faces, Connor.
For the last month, you've started getting more fussy and you haven't been sleeping well. I took you to the doctor last week and she thought it was just reflux pain. So...you're back on Zantac and Prevacid twice a day and I'm happy to say, back to your smiley self.
The doctor also discovered you have hydrocele (water) on your left testicle. We got an evaluation with the urologist right away, and she gave us good news. The hydrocele is a noncommunicating one. Because the sac is closed, fluid can't flow back into the abdomen and it should get absorbed within the next year or two. Your circumcision is scheduled next month, but we're relieved to know you won't need additional surgery on top of that.
You are quite the eater these days. You're eating a jar of oatmeal cereal and a 6-ounce bottle for breakfast. A jar of fruit and 6-ounce bottle for lunch. A 6-ounce bottle for snack. And another jar of veggies and 6-ounce bottle for dinner. Sometimes that's not enough and we give you another jar each meal. Whew!
You've gotten on a pretty good schedule now. Here's what a typical day looks like.
7:00 am - Wake up/Eat breakfast
9:00 - Nap
11:00 - Lunch
1:00 - Nap
3:00 - Snack
5:00 - Nap (a little sketchy)
7:00 - Dinner
7:30 - Bath
8:00 - Bed
The best part? Now, that we've got your reflux pain under control, you're sleeping anywhere from 10-12 hours at night. This mama is really excited about that. :)
You're still spitting up like crazy. On the floor, the couch, in your bed, on us, really anywhere. Your favorite thing is spitting up on us right when we're heading out the door. Your timing is impeccable.
You have two bottom teeth. And more on the way.
You're rolling and scooting all over the place now.
You suck your thumb when you go to sleep at home and you use your paci when we're out.
You love to snuggle.
You don't have time for diaper changes. You don't like getting dressed.
You've outgrown your mini-crib. And you're close to outgrowing your swing, car seat and pack-n-play.
You jump and get scared of loud noises easily.
You squeal when you're happy and excited.
But, most of all, you're so very loved. We love you,
