They're not the traditional cookies we usually leave out for Santa, but he didn't seem to mind. :)
Santa brought two castles for the older kids, complete with knights, dragons, horses, fairies, princesses and unicorns. He brought a new play mat for Connor.
Our crew on Christmas morning.
We started the morning off with blueberry muffins, fruit and sausage balls for breakfast. And the kids got to open all the doors on each page as we read the Christmas story in our Advent book.
They loved their gifts from Santa. They had battles in their castles the rest of the day.
In fact, we couldn't get Brooklyn to play with anything else.
Jacob's favorite new toy, a Ripstik. He was so excited to try it out.
Jacob tore his gifts open as fast as he could, while Brooklyn took all the time in the world.
Dad had to get in on some of the play action too.
Our little helper for the day was this guy. Best Christmas present ever.
He sure looked cute but he spent most of the day here or in our arms.
Grammy and Papa came over with food and gifts for the kids. This book about animal poop in the park was Brooklyn's favorite. :)
We didn't go to church.
We didn't look at the neighborhood lights.
We didn't make gingerbread houses.
We didn't bake cookies.
We didn't make ornaments.
We didn't travel anywhere.
We forgot to have the kids look for the prized pickle ornament on the tree.
We even forgot to wrap Brooklyn's big gift as it got left in the attic!
But, it was a nice simple day spent with family. Just enjoying being together in our cozy little house. Our first Christmas as a family of five. Celebrating the birth of one little babe and all the joy and hope and peace that only He can bring.
We are truly blessed.
