Garage Sale Weekend

We had our 5th annual garage sale this weekend. Scot did most all of the work for it. I helped with advertising, but he did all the manual labor...which meant a lot of late nights and early mornings to clean out the attic and prepare.

Here's a sneak peek of what our garage looked like Friday night.

Scot woke up at 6 am on Saturday to get everything ready in time. Thankfully, his brother came over to help and sell some stuff too. It was a chilly morning.

I served donuts and hot chocolate for breakfast and homemade chicken and rice soup to the guys for lunch, while Jake helped keep track of the books and the money.

Brooklyn stayed outside with us for awhile, but then we came in and had fun painting our toes. Halloween-style.

Jake got tired of keeping the books after a couple hours, so he resorted to doing what he likes best. Video games.

We sold the most this year than we ever have, so I'd say it was a huge success. If you don't believe me, just look at our attic. I see floor space and that's always a good thing. :)

We packed everything up. Dropped off the remaining stuff at the dump and Goodwill. Rushed to Jake's soccer game by 3:00. Had dinner and playtime at McD's with Jacob, Michael and Brooklyn, sleepover included. And watched the Alabama game too. Man, were we beat.

Today after church, Scot surprised us with brunch at Miller's Grocery {one of my all-time favs} before we collapsed in bed or on the couch the rest of the day.

On tap for the week:
  • Order the mini crib and bedding for lil' man
  • Get the last few baby things on our list
  • Buy a few more fall/winter clothes for the kids
  • 33 week doctor's appointment
  • Decorate pumpkins
  • Pumpkin farm
  • Soccer party
  • Fall party at school
And I thought this was our slow week!
