We celebrated part one of Jacob's birthday this weekend. Michael came over on Saturday morning and the boys spent most of the weekend together.
First on the list was letting Jake open an early birthday gift from us.
He got a new Nerf dart tag set, complete with jerseys and glasses for each kid to wear.
The boys were decked out in no time, ready to battle in the backyard.
Meanwhile, Scot and I decorated the kitchen.
Our neighbor, Jordan, joined the crew so I fixed grilled cheese, chips and dessert for all.
After lunch, Scot took the boys to Go USA Fun Park. They played a round of putt-putt and spent the rest of the time playing arcade games.
Jake chose his restaurant-of-choice for dinner. We headed downtown and ate outside at one of our favorite dives. San Antonio Taco Co. (Or Satco, as we know it.)
The boys were in rare form, anticipating their big sleepover that night.
We attempted a family pic. Oh, well.
We came home and I surprised the boys with a butt-load of candy and a homemade cookie cake with ice cream. They were in sugar-heaven.
Hard to believe he's almost nine!
The boys picked out a movie and climbed into the pull-out bed in the den, preparing to stay up way too late. Sunday morning came before we knew it...with a super early wake-up call before heading to church, eating lunch at home, playing some more and bringing Michael home. Part one of Jacob's birthday has come to a close and now it's time to get ready for the week ahead.
The rest of the fun celebration will continue on Wednesday.
