Jacob is home. After a month away up north, he's finally home safe and sound!
Scot and Jake's friend, Michael, drove to Kentucky to pick Jake up. Jake was really surprised to see his friend and excited to spend the day together on the road.
While the guys were gone, Brooklyn and I made a welcome banner for Jake. Brooklyn helped color some of the letters until she lost interest. Then, there was Jake's celebration meal. We had Italian meatloaf, red potatoes and olive, bacon and cheddar rolls. Yumm-o!
And his favorite hot fudge ice cream bar for dessert. (Minus the whipped cream.)
It felt good having my kids together under one roof and being a family of four again. Although, I have to admit I didn't feel good. Unfortunately, Brooklyn gave her cold to me and Scot over the weekend so we felt like crud.
But, we've got this great almost-nine-year old kid at home to enjoy for the last 3 weeks of summer so how can we complain?
