Today we had our first couple inches of snow. As you can imagine, this is a really big deal for us in the south. Hey, we'll take what we can get around here!
The kids were beside themselves, so we spent most of the morning playing outside in the snow. The kids went sledding and loved it. Jake and our neighbor, Jordan, went tubing. Yeah, that didn't turn out so well. Then, all the guys played football in the snow. That was fun to watch.
Brooklyn was not happy when I picked her up to take a picture. She was too busy playing and she made it very clear that she did not have time for a photo-op. Guess it goes to show how much she loved the snow. In fact, she threw a fit when we said it was time to come inside. Scot caved in and stayed outside with her for another half hour or so. He pushed her on the wet swings. It was cute. And Jake had a blast, but he was so red and cold that he was begging to come inside. I didn't blame him one bit.
Warm baths, snuggling and a hearty lunch followed shortly after.
Grammy and Papa came over later and watched the kids while Scot and I went to dinner and a movie. Well...we attempted to see Twilight's New Moon for the third time but the theater had no heat. Major bummer.
We enjoyed a few hours to ourselves, though. It is always nice to have some time to just sit and think, talk without interruptions and just be together.
We decided to nix the movie anyway. We're going to wait until it comes out on DVD. Thank goodness for Netflix.
