Scot and his dad drove to the Alabama vs. Florida SEC Championship game in Atlanta early Saturday morning. Scot had been looking forward to this game for quite awhile, so I was glad he was able to have some guy time.
I woke up early and took the kids to Jake's bowling league. Brooklyn ate a breakfast bar and Cheerios in her snack trap, while coloring and dancing around at the bowling alley. She was the entertainment for the team that morning. Jacob did awesome - even with the distraction. He bowled a 94 the first game and a 120 the second game!! WOO-HOO!!!! I was so proud of him.
After bowling, we went to the Adventure Science Center downtown, as requested by Jacob. We ate our packed lunches and then had a blast for a full 4 hours up until they closed. Brooklyn got pretty daring while we were there. She went down the big slide and even walked through the rope tunnel by herself! What a big girl.
We came home, ate leftovers for dinner and played. We had baths and Jacob helped me put Brooklyn to bed. Then, we stayed up late (late is 9pm for him) and baked peanut butter blossom cookies, while sipping hot chocolate.
While tucking Jake in bed for the night, he said, "Mom, this was so much fun. I love staying up late and baking with you. Can we do it again tomorrow?"
It just doesn't get any better than that.
