Scot and I have felt a tug on our hearts to help those who are less fortunate than us for awhile now. We have always wanted to do something, but the needs of the rest of the world have seemed so overwhelming to us.
We came across the Compassion International website a few weeks ago and literally cried as we looked at the children's faces stricken in poverty. We knew then that we had to make sacrifices as a family to make a difference in at least one children's life through their sponsorship program.
So, we signed up and picked our newest member of the family - a little girl named Kalunda. She is 4 years old and lives in Kenya in an HIV/AIDS affected area with her grandmother and sibling. Her grandmother is sometimes employed as a farmer. Singing and running are Kalunda's favorite activities. In pre-school her performance is average and she also regularly attends church activities.
Please remember to keep Kalunda or "Kallie" in your prayers as we love and support her as one of our own.
