Easter weekend {2009}

We had a busy, fun-filled Easter weekend with family. My sister, Tiff, and brother-in-law, Mike, and their two kids came to visit from Ohio. We had a great time.

On Thursday night, we celebrated Grace's birthday. I can't believe she is already 2!

Here's Grace opening her present...

She loved her Elmo medical kit (and Brooklyn did too!)

On Friday, we ate lunch at Chick-Fil-A. Jacob and Isaac loved playing in the play area there. As we were getting ready to leave, a storm blew in and it started pouring outside. We raced to our vans and decided to go to the Monkey's Treehouse in Bellevue. As we were driving there, the tornado sirens started to blare and we heard the news that a tornado was headed straight for the Smyrna/Murfreesboro area. They didn't think it would hit us in Bellevue, but it still made us worry.......(UPDATE: Thankfully, our house and relatives are safe in Smyrna, but some people in Murfreesboro got hit hard and had a lot of damage. It was sad to see what they went through).

In the meantime, the kids had fun playing at the Monkey's Treehouse. Here are a few pics:

We ordered pizza and then it was bath time! Here's the girls taking a bath together...

The boys set up camp in Jake's room so Isaac could spend the night.

On Saturday, we went to the Jumper's Playhouse for open bounce time. The kids had such a blast!

And yes - I still have that rug burn on my elbow. Ouch!

We went to Grammy and Papa's later that evening for a cookout and Easter egg hunt.

The kids woke up on Sunday and opened their Easter baskets.

Then, we went to church and ate lunch at Miller's Grocery in Bell Buckle. It was delicious Southern cookin' at its finest!

The kids played outside some more at home and we did another Easter egg hunt in the backyard. I think the kids are expert egg hunters by now...

And the weekend couldn't be complete without coloring eggs...

It really was a fun visit for all.

And we definitely couldn't let the holiday go by without remembering the REAL reason we celebrate Easter - Jesus' death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead.

He has conquered death once and for all.

Our life here on earth is only temporary.

And, all those who believe will spend eternal life with Him...

I'm so undeserving, yet grateful for all that Christ has done for you and for me.
