We had a little bit of a scare yesterday afternoon...a tornado touched-down in Nashville at the south end of town. Thankfully, there was only minor damage with a few businesses and cars destroyed, but it could have been a ton worse. We had a severe thunderstorm on top of the tornado watch, so there were some areas with flooding too.
The kids and I watched the news the whole time for any sightings near our area. Jacob was so scared that he crawled into a ball on the couch, clutching his flashlight. He started crying uncontrollably for a good 30 minutes. When I asked him why he was so upset he said, "I'm really worried about Brooklyn. She's just a baby and I don't want anything to happen to her."
Jake eventually calmed down after we talked about it, but I was so touched that the first thing he thought about in a scary situation was to protect his baby sister.
Talk about brotherly love.
