Both kids went to visit the doctor today.
Brooklyn had her 9 month well-baby checkup this morning. Brooklyn weighs 19.5 lbs. and measures 27.5 inches tall. She is in the 50% for weight and 45% for height. Dr. B said that Brooklyn is progressing well. She still has her bad cough (even on the second round of amoxycillin) so Brooklyn will need to have a chest x-ray if it doesn't get better in a few days. Ugh. Let's hope for the best. At least there were no shots, though.
Then I took Jacob to the ENT specialist this afternoon. (Thankfully, Scot was home sick again so he could keep Brooklyn at home). Dr. P said that Jacob has sleep apnea, which may be contributing to his bedwetting problems at night. He said that Jacob's adenoids and tonsils need to be removed because they are enlarged; this could explain the chronic cough, sinus drainage, and sore and itchy throat for the last 3 years. Jacob also had to have a chest x-ray done at Stonecrest just to rule out anything else that might be causing his symptoms.
All in all, I was at the doctors' offices 5 hours today but I'm so glad to finally get some answers to our ongoing health problems with Jacob. Definitely an answer to prayer.
